St.Petersburg, Russia

When the train was nearing at St.Petersburg station, I saw a totally depressed-looking guy staring out the window from an old building by the railroad. That building, it turned out, was a prison. Who builds a prison next door to a train station, the main gate to the city? Russia does! So nonchalant, so devil-may-care, so absolutely beautiful.
The city was filled with once-grandeur buildings that had never seen a fresh batch of paint since the Russian Revolution.
