On the road to Cusco, Salineras, Peru

I have no idea where the salt is coming from, but they were filling up the whole valley.

The whole damn thing looks like this.

When the taxi dropped me off back at the intersection, I was met with a public bus to Cusco almost right away. It was packed, so I ended up half-squatting down next to the driver. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but I was extremely contented to have the whole front window to myself.
The bus made a lot of stops so it took a while to get to Cusco, but good lord, it was cheap. (Less than a dollar for 2hr-ride!) At first I thought it was 5 soles, so I gave the guy five 1-sole coins. He shook his head and gave me back two of the coins. And boy, that warmed my heart.
